Happy 1st Birthday!

One year ago we were introduced to our favorite little boy!  He is full of life and always on the move.
Here's a little glimpse of Adam at 12 months:
weight: 21 lbs. (25th percentile)
height: 30 inches (50th percentile)
head: 18 3/4 inches (80th percentile)
Size 12 month clothing
Size 2-3 shoes
You have 2 teeth and the 2nd one JUST came in.
However, you eat EVERYthing!
Your favorite foods: chicken, green beans, oranges, bananas, fruit snacks, black beans, cheese, cake, corn dogs, hot dogs, tomatoes, apple sauce, yogurt, milk, apple juice
You don't like: macaroni and cheese, rice, baby food (anything pureed)
You are not quite walking but I attribute that to your multiple and ongoing ear infections.
You just got tubes in your ears to help with your ear infections.
You love to play with your walking dinosaur and anything else that has wheels.
You love to throw all of the balls out of the wagon and toss them around the house.
You love to splash in the bathtub.
You love being outside, but it's really rough on your sensitive skin.
You hate to sit still when getting your diaper changed or your nails trimmed.
You like computers, remotes, and telephones.  Basically, anything with buttons.
You no longer drink out of a bottle, but the pacifier remains a must!

You are a great little guy with a wonderful smile and contagious laugh!  You are full of fun and full of life.  We are so fortunate that God has placed you in our lives.  You are a blessing!

Happy Easter

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter with friends and family!  Here's a little preview into the Barr family fun.
While we normally head for church Easter morning...the stomach bug had other plans for our family!  It started with Adam and Reagan the week before and hit me Easter morning.  By that evening Opa was sharing in the fun.  And a few days later...it hit Aaron.  Somewhere in there it also got Nana and Papa.  Amazingly...Granny & Leah walked away untouched!  All in all we had a great day with the kids and the rest of the family.

Who knew?!

Aaron and I took a trip to Dallas one weekend for me to complete a continuing education course for work.  Seeing as how we are on a "clean" diet we took full advantage of going to a Whole Foods Market while we had the opportunity.  Little did we know... the bags provided the kids with hours of fun!  Maybe paper bags will be requested more in the future!

Llano River State Park

We took out first camping trip in the new camper in March.  Though there are no pictures of the camper...we had a great time.  Aaron and I did some "mountain biking" and floated the river.  When I say "mountain biking"  I basically mean we just rode it faster than we did the next day when I pulled the trailer with the 2 kids in it.  So...I guess we'll say we rode on some dirt paths!  We also made cooked (paleo appropriate) outside, made s'mores (not so much paleo), and went "hiking" (dirt paths) with the BOB.  And...oh yeah!  We played in the river!  Enjoy...

On the Playground

The sun is staying up later and, therefore, so are the kids!  But...how much fun enjoying the sun and playing on the playground?!

So Happy Together

I love having 2 kids so close in age!  They, for the most part, play really well together and communicate in their own little way that I only wish I could understand.  That being said...I have had to learn to let go of having a perfectly clean house and let go of having a living room free of toys.

My new goal in life...ENJOY EVERY MOMENT TO THE FULLEST!
Whether that be my kids pulling every toy out of the cabinet, throwing water on the floor during bath, throwing yogurt on their heads during dinner, or a quiet weekend away with my husband...I will let go of all my worries!

My mother-in-law gave me a sign that has been my inspiration...
"Please excuse the noise and mess my kids are busy making memories"

That sign hangs on the table at the front door where you will also find a basketball goal, a dinosaur, and a tricycle!

Another inspiration came from a sermon at church about fearing God and NOT man.   I know now that my cleanliness of my house and my personal appearance is from my fear of what other people think of me!  My desire to appear to have it "all together" was/is actually dragging me down!

I'm still working on both of these tasks and I have a VERY LONG way to go!   But, I can do it for the love of my family.  I'm no longer going to be the mom inside cleaning while my babies are outside riding the four wheeler with Daddy and "cooking" in Reagan's room!  I'm no longer going to be as critical of myself and my abilities.  That's a heavy undertaking for me but...check out these little lives...

Baking cookies
Outside fun
Reagan saying: "Come on Mommy!"
Sweet little boy
So worth it!

Not to leave my husband out either...he's had to deal with me through my craziest times!  Could ask for a greater husband and best friend!  He's my support and my encouragement to "LET GO!"
